Rohlík will open a new distribution centre in Poruba, Ostrava. It plans to serve three quarters of the Czech Republic.

The opening of the new distribution centre is a gamechanger for Rohlik customers. "With the opening of the Ostrava warehouse, we will offer our customers in the region, in addition to the amazing assortment they can already buy from the warehouse in Brno, our great and unique full-service," explains Rohlik's director Martin Beháň to INFO.CZ.

"Thanks to this move, we will not only improve the availability of delivery windows during the day for our customers, we will also offer 15-minute delivery windows and express deliveries in 60 minutes. We will reduce the standard delivery time to just 3 hours. Of course, our money-back guarantee if a customer is dissatisfied with something. They can already take advantage of this," adds Martin Beháň.

In addition, the new centre will also offer a new local assortment, which will be expanded for the Ostrava regions. "Thanks to this new warehouse, we will be able to effectively cover a wide area in northern Moravia, including more remote locations. We are confident that this move will improve the quality of life for more than 450,000 households in the region. This will enable hundreds of thousands of customers to enjoy the convenience of shopping from home," Beháň adds.

The Ostrava distribution centre is being built on the premises of CTP Ostrava Poruba and will cover an area of almost ten thousand square metres. Rohlík will equip the warehouse with modern conveyors and basic technologies for efficient transport of prepared purchases. And like the company's other warehouses, this new one will have specially cooled and frozen areas to meet the temperature requirements of the products delivered. The warehouse space includes a Benu pharmacy, with plans to open a bakery in the near future.

The warehouse will be equipped with basic automated conveyors for horizontal and vertical transport, with the possibility of further automation in the future. The Ostrava warehouse is expected to reach an efficiency level comparable to the company's other warehouses with similar automation by the end of the year. Rohlik plans for this warehouse to be distributing an average of up to 5,000 orders per day by the end of the year, which represents a tens of percent increase in orders nationwide.

In recent months, Rohlik has been strengthening its service nationwide, focusing on increasing the availability of the service in each region. "Over the past year, Rohlik has expanded delivery to new locations, and last year we gained access to more than 2,500 new towns and cities. During the current year, we have continued to do so and nearly 4,000 new locations have become part of the delivery network. The latest news is that the doors have opened for 230 locations in just the last month," comments Rohlik's CEO Martin Behan.

According to Beháň, the expansion of the delivery network goes "hand in hand with the growing consumer demand for convenient and fast purchase of quality food that the customer can have at home in a few clicks." Among the recently added locations are towns such as Děčín, Kadaň, Klášterec nad Ohří, Telč, Světlá nad Sázavou and Třešt'. "We are very pleased that we are gradually able to offer our unique service to more and more customers. Thanks to the latest steps, our service will be available to 75 percent of the population in the Czech Republic. We are not stopping there, we will continue to do so, of course," concludes Beháň for INFO.CZ.
