Kuehne+Nagel further strengthens its logistics capacity with the opening of a new cross-dock near Prague
In response to customer demand, the Kuehne+Nagel Group has opened a new state-of-the-art 6,000 square metre terminal in Zdice, Central Bohemia, to increase its capacity in this sought-after logistics location.
Thanks to the cross-dock's location close to the main transport arteries that directly connect it to Western European markets, the Group offers its customers even more efficient and faster shipment transport.
"The opening of this cross-dock represents a significant milestone in our efforts to provide first-class logistics services," said Martin Froněk, director of the land transport division.
The terminal has 60 loading bays, significantly reducing the time required to tranship goods, is equipped with the latest technology and was built using sustainable materials and in accordance with BREEAM standards, ensuring energy-optimal operation. "With this new infrastructure, we will be able to better meet the needs of our customers while contributing to a more sustainable way of doing business," said Miroslav Pudil, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel in the Czech Republic.
Road transport is a key segment for Kuehne+Nagel in the domestic market. In 2023, the group handled approximately 351,000 shipments and more than 205,000 tonnes of freight in the Czech Republic. Its specialties include international picking, LTL and FTL transport, as well as the storage and transport of high-value goods and temperature-controlled goods.
